Repertoire

MWRTEC 2020 will host the following competitions:

Solo Artist Euphonium, Solo Artist Tuba, Young Artist Euphonium, Young Artist Tuba, Mock Military Band Euphonium, Mock Orchestra Tuba and Chamber Music Competitions. Deadline for recorded submissions is February 10, 2020.

Chamber Music Competition-Scott Sutherland, Chair

This competition can be comprised of any instrumentation of tubas or euphoniums, so long as the ensemble does not exceed five musicians or fewer than three musicians. All musicians must perform on each piece. There are no age restrictions for this competition. Please choose music that demonstrates a diverse array of tempi, styles and time periods.

Preliminary/Recorded Round: 8-10 minutes of music.

1 Partial or Complete work/arrangement from the Renaissance, Baroque, Classical or Romantic time periods.

1 Partial or Complete work originally composed for the instrumentation of the group.

Final/Live Round: 10-12 Minutes of music.

Three complete or partial works of contrasting style. One of which, should be a work written specifically for the instrumentation of your group. No repertoire from the recorded round can be repeated.
